Primoris Heavy Civil (formerly James Construction Group) has long standing history that dates back to the 1920’s, where it earned the reputation as one of the most well respected heavy civil contractors in the Gulf Coast region. In 2009, the company’s growth continued through a merger with Primoris Services Corporation, one of the largest companies listed in ENR’s Top 400 Contractors. With the bonding capacity and resources of the parent company, Primoris Heavy Civil has the potential to expand to an even larger role in the heavy civil and transportation industries in the coming years.

Primoris Heavy Civil is comprised of five operating units that include North Louisiana Operations, South Louisiana Operations, Texas Operations, HMA Paving Operations, and Concrete Paving Operations.

Services include: demolition, heavy earthwork, soil stabilization, mass excavation, drainage, pile driving, concrete paving, end-on (top-down) construction, bridge construction, major interstate and highway construction, airports, marine and rail installations.

Major construction projects that require a large fleet of equipment are typical projects performed by Primoris Heavy Civil. The majority of the heavy civil equipment fleet valued at over $50 million resides locally and is supported by an additional Primoris owned fleet of $300 million. Primoris continues to maintain a VIP status with one of the largest equipment manufacturers known worldwide.

Primoris Heavy Civil has a large in-house work force to staff any major project with highly qualified and experienced craftsmen each specialized in their field of expertise.

Primoris Heavy Civil targets the heavy civil and transportation markets within the geographical service of the Gulf Coast States. Engineering and construction is offered through the design build group that has been successful on major transportation projects awarded by the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Mississippi Department of Transportation.

The group has won numerous construction awards through Associated Builders & Contractors, American Concrete Institute, Associated General Contractors and other industry publications.

Clients in the transportation markets include: Louisiana Department of Transportation, Texas Department of Transportation, Mississippi Department of Transportation, Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department, George Bush International Airport, Hobby Airport and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
